Rainforest Action Network - Rainforest Action Network (RAN) works to protect the Earth's rainforests and support the rights of their inhabitants through education, grassroots organizing, and nonviolent direct action. Founded in 1985, RAN is a non-profit, member-based organization. RAN accomplishes its mission through dynamic, hard-hitting campaigns that work to bring corporate and governmental policies into alignment with popular support for rainforest conservation. RAN works in alliance with environmental and human rights groups around the world, including indigenous forest communities and non-governmental organizations in rainforest countries.

Fairness and Accuracy In Reporting - an organization looking at media coverage and its biases. Have a great radio show too.

Reefseekers - A great dive company in Indonesia serving the Gili Islands in Lombok and the islands near Flores, Komodo being one of them. These folks are great and offer 1st class diving and scuba instruction. They also run a sea turtle hatchery rescuing eggs from the local markets and raising them for release. Dive with them, donate to them.

Whitewater Vacations - a site for kayakers and rafters or canoe enthusiasts looking to plan a whitewater vacation.

Zerx Records - Recordings of the local New Mexico scene and beyond.

Plutonium Records - More recordings in the improvised music genre featuring local tuba and trombone hero Mark Weaver. Every release is a good one.

Free Jazz in New York - a listing of most of what is happening on the New York free improvising jazz scene. Not the whole jazz scene, but close.
